How the Ukrainians protest (pics + NYT story)

First, the background; Ukraine's parliament went over a rather contentious bill that refuses to allow local and regional governments to give official status to Russian and other languages other than Ukrainian. The New York Times has a full article on it. However, the image - and the caption used for it - is just a little misleading (Awwww, poor cop, those protestors are so mean!)
