1. understand from previous post that the number of aircraft suited to fight this type of thing

has really fallen over the past couple years.

fire protection is like the old fram oil filter ads

2. those planes aren't very effective. they are just visual. for teevee gnews.

maybe if we had a CCC working out in west......

3. Yes, fire planning needs to become a focus and that will create jobs

All kinds of disaster READINESS should be happening,
and that will create jobs.

Long-term environmental vision, planning & investment
is urgent; this will bring jobs, many many jobs, and inspire
many to get an education in the *new* fields of energy,
conservation, infrastructure.

There ought to be a Department of Common Sense.
