Jamie Frederick Speaks at Don't Frack Ohio

1000+ Ohio residents marched in Columbus and took over the statehouse June 17 to protest unsafe natural gas drilling, or fracking.

The state government is currently just a front organization for the gas and oil companies who are making big profits while pushing of all the costs and dangers onto local residents. The gas companies have slobbered millions of dollars on the state and national lawmakers to make sure they get their way.

1. HERE'S A MODEST IDEA...

Let's all imagine that we are in Jamie Frederick's shoes and ACT NOW against Friggin' Fracking while we are alive enough to act and while there is still some drinking water that the Big Oil Polluters haven't ruined. Folks, water is our most basic necessity of living and we all have to protect it or lose it, and then face the consequences of trying to live without drinkable water...Think about it (for a few minutes or less) and then ACT.

2. Thank you

Hopefully people will understand the dangers of this kind of drilling and extraction, and connect with a local group to help stop this madness. It also is a good chance to meet alot of cool people in your community.

This is where I got the video:

3. A couple of great videos a while back; mic check by students in OH; a native man talking about water

They were both powerful but the councils just kept on going when they left. A problem with events is that if there is no permanent presence (elected) they just see our words as 'venting.' Just like kids, they see what we have to say as if we're having a tantrum. Then it's business as usual we leave. It appears that Kasich listened to some of this; PA seems a lost cause and Cuomo only changed some of the fracking sites in NY. I know that H2O man is involved and has gotten some action. Still we seem slow and they seem to fast track it all. This is the most destructive thing I've seen since the BP volcano in the Gulf. Thanks for another piece and I hope the natives will prevail there.
