of his discomfort is that Thom was uncomfortable because of the male-female dynamics of the heated arguing. He did sort of jump around about this and it was hard to follow his presentation. Recall early in his presentation he mentions that his parents never fought and the only thing they ever fought about was whether or not they would go to Lake Michigan on summer vacation...He mentions how hard he feels it must have been for friends whose parents fought.
He went from there to Democratic Party liberalism yada yada yada
Then he concludes with how uncomfortable the debate made him feel.
That's my 2 cents.
