New Rising MSRNC "Star" Ann S.E. Coulter-Cupp Introduces Herself. Air Sickess Bags To Your Left.June 19, 2012 10:00 AM
Can MSNBC Really 'Lean Forward' With S.E. Cupp as Host? By Nicole Belle S.E. Cupp??? C'mon MSNBC. It's kinda hard to buy the whole "lean forward" meme when one of the first people you bring on board works for that oh-so-delightful Tucker Carlson outlet (the one that celebrates lack of professionalism), appears on Glenn Beck TV and writes such painfully obvious attempts to be edgy and "controversial" as this: If you don’t know me, I’m an author, a political columnist, and a conservative television commentator. I live in New York City, I love board games, and my favorite food is macaroni and cheese. I’m also a terrible person.
You should know this about me now, because it will lessen the blow later when I gradually reveal all of my grotesque short-comings over the course of our relationship here at The Daily Caller. I figure, if I’m upfront with you at the beginning, you will come to hate me only slightly less. It’s that modicum of tolerance that I hope I can eventually turn into a shred of acceptance, and then later maybe that will become a snippet of appreciation. But that may just be wishful thinking. So let’s pretend we’re on our first date, and we’re getting to know each other. You are sitting across the table from me at some trendy, low-lit, beautiful-people lounge that you picked and I probably hate. You’re sipping from a glass of small-batch bourbon that you ordered to prove how “old-school” you are, and I’m sipping from a glass of small-batch bourbon because that’s what I drink. In the first five minutes you’ve been sure to let me know you’re a banker/lawyer/politico and I’m immediately regretting my pledge never to go out with a banker/lawyer/politico, and as you talk I’m imagining myself fishing the salmon run in Alaska (you’re not there).

1. Sippy Cupp is a dimwit.

Let's see the liberal MSNBC has ...
Joe Scab 6-9am ... I won't watch. Andrea Greenspan ... another hour I won't watch. Sippy Cupp ... another other I won't watch. Good job liberal MSNBC. |

Can't even handle having them on for "background noise" any more.

3. S.E. Cupp is on the wrong side of so many issues,
|
and the only reason why I tolerate watching her is because I think she's really cute. All that crap about MSNBC being such a liberal network is BS, though. They have conservatives like her on there all the time. CurrentTV is more liberal than MSNBC will ever hope to be.

If there is one that makes her a "martyr", I guess I did, however, most of the feminists I know do not mind calling right wingers idiots. They may object to the "c" word as it tends to allow some men to use that word whenever they feel like it, but they can call a right wing pundit an idiot.

it gets harder to handle MSNBC.

I have to add Reverend Al to your list, though.
I have this little problem with the coax cable that runs from my wall to the converter box. There are a few channels I can't get sometimes (Current, VH1 Classic and others) and I know a new cable will rectify that. |

9. She can't be that smart because she's too pretty?
|
More like she can't be that smart because she's a conservative.
And what has smart got to do with galvanizing? Sarah the Weathergirl? BSC? Both dumb as posts and yet extremely galvanizing to the moronic masses of Reds. She's got it all wrong. Reds don't give a fuck about your brains- but if you're good looking they'll listen to any pablum you dribble out. Hey all you folks with cable- Please let's straighten MSNBC out. Make sure and have your TV tuned to MSNBC in the timeslot immediately before hers- Then pointedly change the channel the minute she comes on. And maybe change it back as soon as she's done? Wouldn't that big trench in their ratings be just soooo gratifying? |

20. No, she got the job because she's pretty
|
and that's it.
Look at her background: studied art history at Cornell, was a professional ballet dancer, and a file clerk at the New York Times. That's all she had as a background before Fox hired her to show off her legs and spout anti-women attitudes and other conservative dogma as she did it. |

|
Remember her? No?
She used to have an evening show on MSNBC. She was better known by the name given to her by Randi Rhodes: Throaty McHuskington. In all likelihood, Ms. Cupp's imprint on the channel will be equally short-lived. |

17. Do Not See Why
|
I do not know why MSNBC would give her a show, she says some of the stupidest things. Not just about beauty, but also about politics. A few days ago I had thought about creating a post asking DUers if they thought MSNBC should give Chris Hayes or Melissa Harris-Perry a weekday show. I thought Harris-Perry was probably out of the question in that she teaches at Tulane. However, I thought Hayes was still a possibility since he seemed to live in the New York area. Finally, I do not see her show lasting if rating are taken into account. I do not see too many people watching her show.
On another note, why do some conservative women seem so concerned with beauty? A number of them constantly talk about being beautiful. |

Last edited Wed Jun 20, 2012, 01:42 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) she's not as bad as most but i don't see her being successful. it would be good if she could steal some non-lemmings away from fox, though. she's not totally drunk on the fox koolaid. she has a few lucid moments . . . like tweety and joey scar.
