And a white guy that is upper middle class that actually cares about poor people and has his whole life, and is against mass incarceration and private prisons.

We have two choices, if I held the right stock portfolio and was rich I would vote for the rich lady.

Being a poor person that has worked for a living I will vote for Sanders.
There are two choices and I get those that are voting their best interests, I am not so petty that I won't give a shout out to Hilary and her rich buddies at Goldman Sachs and the prison lobbies and all the other rich folk that are counting on her, after all, they are voting for the one that will do the best to help them just like I am.

I get that.

Spend time with us? Listen to us? Know us? We are not in need of an absentee patertype. How has he helped blacks acheive power in government? Does he donate to our candidates? Campaign for them?
Great he has nice positions but what has he done on his own to promote diversity? Besides endorse Jesse Jackson. I already know that one. And he stumped for O. That's two. How many?

It may also surprise you to know there are an entire nation of poor people that need help, nut just pure African Americans and they should be helped too.

I know from previous experience and how you have spoken to other brown ppl that my muti-racial tan ass is not pure enough and thus deserving in your eyes of help just because I am poor, what you want appears to be just for you, and you hang those hopes on a rich white lady (who is somehow racially more black pure than I with black blood is in your eyes, a headscratcher that is) she only cares about rich people, how sad, how ironic, how disappointed you will be when she fucks all of us over that are not rich, even you, and throws more black ppl in prison (private prison). She needs us superpredators to heel after all amirite?

I never called her black. Or you not.

But. Bernie has issues appealing to blacks and I keep saying why.
People get mad instead of actually thinking that maybe I actually know what I'm talking about.
He is too angry. We need optimism.
He yells and lectures. We hate getting lectures from white guys cuse we have never NOT gotten constant lectures and anger and yelling.
He is scarce. Optics. Artistic group of folks who have been marginalized. We need to SEE him COMFORTABLE with us as EQUALS. Not as recipients of lectures on what's wrong with us or best FOR us. Maybe as a STUDENT of US.
His dogged and tenacious focus on Income inequlity with fixes to racial problem being econimoc in nature, ie, 'how do we prevent more Sandra Blands? Answer: black unemployment rates, wtf. Um? She had a job.
His plans on mass incarceration that get skimpy on the details of how? How? Revolution! Well hell if we gotta do a revolution for that can we get some affirmative action? Oh please black folks! That's DIVISIVE! Won't pass!
Him voting yes on mass incarceration and then promptly absolving himself of any blame. Then blaming it all on Hillary/Bill.

The constant talk of us being uninformed and needing to be educated on Bernie then we'll know he's best for us. Gag! Gag gag! We just so ignant.

Finally? The fear of loss or reprisals or certain painful doom once Hillary gets us where she wants us.

25. sanders has time and again addressed institutional racism

i think he gets it.

i've also been mistreated by the cops, although on the basis of my sex, in sandra bland's own county what's more. i've seen the intituional racism, and it disgusts me. i support blm fullthroatedly; i think they are right on the money. the bernie vs clinton decision was hard for me in some ways because so-called "identity politics" DO matter. i understand that many are not ready to sweep under the rug and "wait for their turn". but imo wealth inequality, political corruption are the most pressing issues facing the american people at this time. hillary will not confront the problem: sanders will.

fyi i find ta nehisi coates' writing style insufferable, but i'm starting to get this whole reparations thing. wonder where i'd fit in that scheme tho; my family fought on both sides of the war: were both slave owners and abolitionists. the mock legislation from either gawker or vox seemed to recommend something eerily similar to sanders' platform tho: wonder what you have to say about that.

cheers.

It's not a contest number one. Native americans, blacks, we know and you know and everybody knows we got fucked. Hard. With no consent.

Not only that, but the shit continues for us in ways that whites never even HAVE TO THINK ABOUT.

Reparations:
Reparations discussed by people who are actually serious about confronting the past do NOT INVOLVE CASH PAYMENTS.
If you were redlined, and most of us were, there would be programs to get mortages separately and with no interest. Also, free educational programs, free healthcare similary to the nativ healt program for tribes.
Every part of the discriminitory acts would be put out, transparency. A lawsuit against all banks that gave us bad mortages on good credit going back to reconstruction.
Any gentrification done will be done for us, low income residences that are clean safe and nice.
The undoing of the system of housing projects, poor whites got cheap loans, we got housing projects.
And there is a full list of thing and alot of discussion if you look around. The list is so long that I cannot fi it here.

It would have nothing to do with individual whites. It would involve the government repairing the policies it set in place t fuck us over. I'd like to go over those treaties that were taken with the tribes to rectify some of the land theft and creat a system where they always have a set number of guaranteed reps and senators in our federal legislative bodies.

Ta-Nehisi Coates writes like that because he cannot tell that he's too smart. He writes for himself and since he knows those damn words he expects us to too.

seems mildly pendantic/pseudothoughtful, as if the man has WAY TOO MUCH FREE TIME to let his thoughts meander. very HYP; certainly not the only one of that ilk to have such an irritating writing style.

if that's reparations, i'm all for that. yes to reparations. but I also don't think that "free" quality healthcare and quality education should be limited to oppressed groups; they are a right and what's more an economic imperative in the modern reality. thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I think we need to refreame the reparations away from the comedic million buck for all, gets spent and we are still in the same place. That's no plan.

I have a twitter account which I can check easily via my iPhone, and I know how to re-tweet, forward, and post on tweets therein...

What I DON'T know and I'm tired of not knowing is how I see a hashtag and distribute it out to (I'm figuring the only thing I have used, which is Twitter).

Do I #feelthebern within the body of my DU post? If so, where does this go?

I'll also check with Welcome & Help.

I know I can do this better.
