In a Senate floor speech on the sixth anniversary of Citizens United, Senator Elizabeth Warren laid out steps that Congress and the Administration can take to root out the influence of money in politics.

but the problem, in the end, is the same - the big corporations rule.

Rupert Murdoch gave us Tony Abbott as Prime Minister, and he's an American citizen who doesn't even pay tax here.

And Malcolm Turnbull refuses to chase up the global corporations, like Google, Newscorp, and Apple, who don't pay tax, but wants to slug the poorest with an increased GST, and cuts to welfare.

It's a sick, sick world.

That act will speak volumes.

Meanwhile, EW sends a not-so-cryptic message to all of us what kind of corrupt campaign finance is in place on this anniversary of shooting democracy in the back.
