(15,021 posts)Most Republicans don't really want to repeal Obamacare.
Republican politicians know it's a meaningless vote that will never pass. It's just something they can do (at no cost) to show the know-nothings who vote for them that they're against that black guy in the White House.
If they ever succeeded in destroying it, the people it would screw would finally "get it" and would never again vote for a Republican. It would be the end of the GOP.

(24,401 posts)The Congressional Research Service estimates that it cost $1.45 million for every vote. Think of all the good we could have done with that totally wasted money. These fiscal conservative sure do like to waste don't they?

(581 posts)I ask Ryan why he didn't debate and pass a mental health bill, but do you know GOP is against any mental health bills, the states have or are defunding them. So why does Ryan say mental health is the gun issue? He will not do anything. Well whats new. Congress has failed to do work in 7 years. But they still get paid.

(18,652 posts)The infrastructure of the nation is falling into ruins, people can't even afford Obamacare, there are mass shootings each week and these asshats spend their time and our money on a futile gesture to the Kochheads, who with $ 83 billion can afford all the health care they want. What a country.
