"Hillary Clinton distanced herself from Barack Obamas strategy for defeating Islamic State extremists on Thursday in a sweeping foreign policy speech that called for greater use of American ground troops and an intensified air campaign.
Though ruling out deploying the tens of thousands of US troops seen in Iraq andAfghanistan, the former of secretary of state made clear she would take a notably more hawkish approach than the current administration if she is elected president.

(44 posts)An "Intelligence Surge" is possibly the dumbest concept recently popularized. First of all, the methods, means and extent of our Intelligence gathering efforts are SECRET, by definition. Therefor any increase or decrease in these activities will be SECRET. So calling for a surge is clearly rhetorical. Duh.
