against the sequester cuts? I thought most of the cuts came from the military budget. You cannot invest in the middle class if you keep running up the debt funding military hardware that go boom. Right now, we can't even pay the interest of the debt without raising the debt ceiling.

Anything to cut defense budget is a win in my book. Yes, it also cut non military stuff but the bulk of it came from defense budget. And we are talking about investing for the future when there isn't even enough money to pay for the interest we have taken on the debt.

One way or another, the budget will have to be cut to get this country in better fiscal standing before any meaningful investment can be made and the longer we wait to make the cuts, the more painful it is going to be.

who are afraid to do their jobs.

They won't cut spending because that would be unpopular with many voters and the corporations feeding at the trough. They won't increase taxes because that would be piss off their rich contributors.
