Bill Maher: If Trump Can Survive Fox ‘Trying to Put a Stake in Him,’ He Could Go All the Way

Bill Maher returned from break tonight to react to Donald Trump‘s “nonsense” campaign and said that people shouldn’t count him out yet.

He noted how people laughed off Ronald Reagan as a joke before he ran for president, and said no one actually thought Trump would even get this far. “Fox tried to put a stake in him,” Maher said, “and I don’t think they did.”

Steve Schmidt agreed that it’s “crazy to dismiss his chances to be the Republican nominee” and said, “A lot of what he says is nonsense talk.”

Maher did wonder, though, “what does it say about your party that the guy who’s leading you say is full of nonsense?”

IDK why they're taking so long but I would bet there's some truth behind the results of that Drudge poll.

It really was a get to say hello to the audience.

I wonder how many tuned in(possibly 3 million) and how many changed the channel after 20 minutes (over half) .

I'm surprise anyone is talking about this, except about the dumby down Fox lack of seriousness.

I waited until later to get "highlights" and reactions. Ten people can't possibly have a "debate." When the actual candidate are chosen, we should go back to more of a Kennedy/Nixon format.

It's better with 2-3 friends- Then it becomes an episode of Mystery Science Theater. It was like we were all trying to spot the most egregious lie.

I have nothing of substance to share, but Mary Matalin looks kind of like a confused monkey. When she started talking it seemed like she was running at 25 fps rather than 23.

until she started talking. But I do think Botox is at play here - it makes her look as if she's had her jaw wired. But truth be told, I was more focused on Gavin.
