in most states you can be fired because someone suspects you are gay.

Your actual gender preference is immaterial.

I believe it's 32 states that you can be fired if you're transgender.

The HRC, Human Rights Campaign, is begging for more donations to fight these horrific discriminatory practices and laws. Since the SCOTUS decision, donations have dropped. People who are not familiar with what can still happen don't think there's anything left to fight. Unfortunately, there's still a long way to go
