Thanks for posting. I'm old enough that I saw him live. It was so sad when he left us.

The country broke his "fragile heart" as the Nanci Griffith song put it, and he had iimpossible expectations for himself, as many bipolar people do(he really wanted to be Elvis and Che at the same time, and neither of them lived to be fifty just trying to be himself).
In some ways, I think Phil's name should have been inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial. That war killed him as much as it killed the men who fought there.
