He's not "Locked in the Cabinet" anymore! Referencing a great book by former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich -- there it is again-labor. Labor hates trade deals if one single job can be lost -- how could they not?

Discussing NAFTA:

"If you put labor and environmental standards into our trade agreements, it’s not a race to the bottom. If you have an environmental standard and a labor standard that, for example, bars all slave labor, guarantees the right to organize, maintains kind of minimum labor standards throughout the world, you are setting a floor for all nations. It’s not protectionism. This is a way of actually getting everybody up rather than having the bar continue to trend downward. We tried to do this in NAFTA, and, unfortunately, we couldn’t get the Mexican government support. We tried to have a labor and environmental side agreement. I think it would have been a much better agreement had we had that."

After NAFTA and Clinton: 3.9% unemployment, progressive taxation on the rich, annual budget surpluses, financial and educational programs for 'displaced workers', kicked Newt's ass!

It was tough times, but we all muddled through.

I'm sure you remember it different, with links and references.

I have seen nothing but a decline in all the things that matter to working people. So that we is kind of hard to explain.

utter insanity, the giveaway of all giveaways to an unaccountable, mulitnat'l oligarchy, unprecedented power.

How messed up is it that our own president wants this fast tracked?
