“Hannity” guest bails on offensive Walter Scott segment: “I am not going to sit here and listen to this hate!”

When one panelist suggested people stop "overreacting" to the murders of unarmed black men, Leo Terrell blew up

JENNY KUTNER

One of Sean Hannity’s guests angrily opted out of a segment on the Walter Scott shooting on Thursday night — in the middle of the segment.

Ripping out his earpiece before up and leaving the show, civil rights attorney and talk radio host Leo Terrell blasted fellow “Hannity” guest Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson, a conservative pundit who suggested people “stop overreacting” to the shooting deaths of unarmed black men. While Peterson urged viewers not to react to the Scott murder as the public responded to the deaths of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, Terrell interrupted, losing his cool and heading for the door.

“I am not going to sit here and listen to this hate!” Terrell shouted. “I’m not gonna listen to it!”

Hannity, who eventually sided with Terrell, attempted to quell the dispute to no avail. When the host told Peterson that Terrell had left, the reverend had a sharp reply. “Leo’s a coward,” Peterson said.

Watch the blow up below:

Everyone should boycott Fox News. No Democratic office holder should ever appear on Fox News, either.

Fox has demonstrated time and again that they cannot be trusted as hosts. They will always seek to manipulate the discussion to favor the far right point of view.

From http://field-negro.blogspot.com/2012/05/its-21st-century-but-house-negro-is.html

...
To understand this, you have to go back to what [the] young brother here referred to as the house Negro and the field Negro -- back during slavery. There was two kinds of slaves. There was the house Negro and the field Negro. The house Negroes - they lived in the house with master, they dressed pretty good, they ate good 'cause they ate his food -- what he left. They lived in the attic or the basement, but still they lived near the master; and they loved their master more than the master loved himself. They would give their life to save the master's house quicker than the master would. The house Negro, if the master said, "We got a good house here," the house Negro would say, "Yeah, we got a good house here." Whenever the master said "we," he said "we." That's how you can tell a house Negro.

If the master's house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the blaze out than the master would. If the master got sick, the house Negro would say, "What's the matter, boss, we sick?" We sick! He identified himself with his master more than his master identified with himself....

...
Just as the slavemaster of that day used Tom, the house Negro, to keep the field Negroes in check, the same old slavemaster today has Negroes who are nothing but modern Uncle Toms, 20th century Uncle Toms, to keep you and me in check, keep us under control, keep us passive and peaceful and nonviolent. That's Tom making you nonviolent. It's like when you go to the dentist, and the man's going to take your tooth. You're going to fight him when he starts pulling. So he squirts some stuff in your jaw called novocaine, to make you think they're not doing anything to you. So you sit there and 'cause you've got all of that novocaine in your jaw, you suffer peacefully. Blood running all down your jaw, and you don't know what's happening. 'Cause someone has taught you to suffer -- peacefully." [Listen]

This was a speech Malcom X gave before he went to South Africa and realized the real struggle was between those with wealth and those without, when he had begun to leave his black nationalism behind and work against the real struggle between those with wealth and the masses.

But I think it is as clear an explanation of Peterson's act as I have seen. He's the kind of person the folks like FOX employees (and, frankly, most white folk, it appears) just love to have around, because they know when and what to say, and when to be quiet.

is a right wing tool and an idiot. People like him are an anathema to society, period. Terrell did the right thing, short of cursing Petersen out on air and telling him what he really is. Which I would have loved too see.

Mr. Terrell. There is no hope for a millionaire (Hannity) Hate Speaker to change his method, regardless of his late agreement with Leo Terrell.

The organization that he supposedly founded is BOND, a 501 group dedicated to African Americans knowing their place. Though they've since taken down the organization's board members it is a list of white conservative heavy hitters like Norquist, Hannity and Prager. When one of the board members want to make a racist statement in public, they trot out Peterson as a mouthpiece.

It's obvious that Peterson founded nothing and is financially employed by right wing pundits through BOND so they can say "some of my best friends...". Peterson consistently argues the white viewpoint on every racial issue, bar none. He has zero credibility.

One of his favorites is telling the story of how much slaves just loved their masters who took such great care of them. In his words: "thank God for slavery". Perhaps he's speaking of his relationship with Sean Hannity.

Check out his site if you find yourself short on outrage today where humble African Americans can purchase an "I am not a victim" shirt:
