TYT: Nutella 'Not a Healthfood' Lawsuit

Via The Consumerist: "Remember last year, when various media outlets reported that the mother of a four-year-old child was suing the makers of Nutella for advertising it as a health food? Everyone thought that this was hilarious, because hey, lady, fat-laden choco-paste ain't a health food. It's time for us all to stop laughing now, because the class-action lawsuit has been settled for about $3 million, $2.5 million of which is going to consumers willing to admit that they can't read a nutrition label...".* Ana Kasparian and Ben Mankiewicz break it down on The Young Turks.

Nutella's true purpose is making buckeyes, which no one expects to be healthy in the first place saras Apr 2012 #8

for suggesting lazy slobs who can't be arsed to read a label deserve what they get.

However, they should have been jumped on far sooner. We have truth in advertising laws still and making health food claims for a sugar spread should have been prevented.

They needed to use the sugar cereal weasel words, "part of a healthy breakfast."

I know my headaches stopped when I got that first LCD computer screen 14 years ago.

Yeah, I know, there's always got to be one...

Too sweet for toast.

Better off giving your kids a pb&j for breakfast - at least that way they would get some nutrition - especially if it's a natural peanut butter.
