For high profile political campaigns, as well as under the radar stealth moves like this. The whole Redmap strategy was sheer political genius indeed, and something that Democrats might do well to emulate. If only liberally inclined billionaires and political donors could get behind a well oiled Democratic money machine. We'd have a "Battle of the Billionaires", a "Clash of the Titans" to beat the band! After all, it's no longer "We the People" in this post Citizens United era - it's "We the Billionaires", with us middle and working class peons just hanging on for the ride, doing whatever we can to facilitate things, and feeding off the leftovers, like remoras on a great white shark.

are a force that we can not turn back without a unified movement.

Things will have to get a lot worse before the sheep will wake up.

does this happen w/Dr Dean at the helm? And does anyone else find it interesting that since the 100billion in cash from Iraq fiasco the GOP has no problem with $$ for anything they try?

Corruption often has what looks like genius behind it, but what I see here coming from this particular "so called" journalist, is a naivete' that is shockingly uninformed. This has been going on since the supreme courts citizens united case. And, on her March 2nd show, she interviewed the creep behind this corrupt genius and treated the guy like,e the fuckin second coming. It sickened me to watch. This Red state shit is just plain wrong...

Watching Rachel's interview makes me wonder if Democratic and progressive small donors could join together to replicate this kind of an election success for the Democratic wing of the Democratic party?

I also wonder how different is this from a 50 State Strategy?

There isn't enough money among small donors. To the average person's credit, the bulk of DNC's donations are less than $500 whereas GOP's donors give in much, much bigger amounts but by fewer people.

The full show is behind a pay wall now.

What is with liberal, progressive media? One of the reasons FOX viewership is so large and we've seen the influence of that has been that it's available everywhere, for free. Even on my cell phone plan, FOX was the only news show offered for free.

Basic cable offers FOX but MSNBC is several tiers higher, right up there with Showtime and HBO. Are they kidding?

I live in a very, very red state and watching local news or reading the daily paper is very misleading. Air America was here for 2 years, became hugely popular (ended for other reasons involving a court case that they won) and durinng that time the unthinkable happened - the state almost turned BLUE! Enough of a swing state the DNC set up a permanent office ...

However, without Air America or a voice in the media, the DNC pulled out in 6 months.

Meanwhile, to gain access to hear Al Franken's show there was another paywall.

I am so sick of this. Progressives are sunk until they can find a way to support media. I would subscribe to The Maddow Show but that doesn't seem to be an option. I am not going to pay over $100/mth for 300 useless channels on a 2 year contract just to get the Maddow Show.

So stupid. I can't believe I'm the only one upset by this.
