Chile's stadiums: from torture centres to the Copa America



Remember that the US had big part in this. An example of US overreach in the foreign affairs in other countries because we had support evil dictators because we were too paranoid about the potential effects of socialist government in South America. We could let go and let democracy have its away. Instead we had to resort to dictators to comfort our fear that our influence and power would wain just because a country wanted to experiment with democratic socialism. The reality is that the Soviet Union was not taking come in and take away our power. We could have treated the Chilean government like any other government and traded with them.
