The idea Jews attacked Russia and then Germany, is in its first part no more or less than the sturdy anti-semitic trope that the Russian revolution was a Jewish plot, and that Bolsheviks were Jews or agents of Jews, and in its second that the travails of Germany after the Great War were the machinations of Jews: in short, pretty much the central theme of every speech Hitler ever gave. The claim direction for this came from American Jews and Jewish banks is, in its first part, again a leading Nazi theme, that Aaron Cohen in the board-room directed Moses Cohen to rouse the rabble of workers against Nation and Church for their mutual profit, and, in its second part, the reason Hitler gave for his inability to reach an understanding with England and the United States against the Bolsheviks ( Jews ). I will leave aside the blank and brooding hate of the theological clap-trap, for the present at least. A man who holds this view of twentieth century history cannot be considered a useful guide to current events, cannot be considered a reliable observer, and to proclaim him a standard of 'objective presentation' is simply absurd, like a man stepping out into the street with his shoes on his head and his hat on his feet.
