men in the republican part of the senate and house.

Must be some sort of requirement in order to run for office on the republican ballot.

must think that is a great idea, as she now has a lead in the polls.

They seem to like the idea of indenturd servitude.

I hope these poll numbers are wrong, and they could be. Ask Mittens about poll numbers. I hope The Castration Queen has a concession speech ready.

what they'd do with the Minimum Wage.

Would you raise it?
Would you lower it?
Do you believe there should even BE a minimum wage? Or do you believe in magical free-market faeries that would lower the cost of a house to $100 if only we eliminated it?

Just wondering, do you think the federal govt can set an effective minimum wage that would be the same for 2 states like California and Iowa? In one city the average rent for one bedroom is $800+ and $500+ in the other. This is not as silly as some of you guys think it is and it a message that sells well even amongst people that believe in a living wage.

but its still a lot easier to live on minimum wage in Iowa than in California

The idea of states having different minimum wage standards is not a bad idea. Ideally, it would be better for the federal govt to set a floor for the state with the lowest standard of living and then leave it up to the rest of the states to adjust their numbers. This would be much better than making California and Iowa share the same wage and that is the point she is making which quite a lot of people agree with in Iowa.

All I am saying is that the idea is not as silly as some of the people in the comment section would like you to believe. Couple it with the belief in state rights and distrust of Washington bureaucrats and you have a winner policy on your hands. This line of attack will not work against Jodi Erst

Seattle and LA.
The thing is if half the workers at Walmart making $10 /hr have to be on govt assistance to survive, then even $10 isnt enough as a livable wage. And so WE the tax-payers have to pay for the groceries of the employees of the richest family in the world who make billions a yr.

just incorrect. A liveable minimum wage for all America is essential. Consider the corporate mind-set: move jobs to states with low minimum wages, then make sure that workers cannot work 40 hours per week. Read the Wal-Mart manual and come to an understanding why state minimum wages cannot work unless there is a nation-wide minimum wage. Do you know why corporations are now sending jobs to Vietnam instead of China?

Your argument for state minimum wages fails.
