Reporter Charlo Greene quit on-air during KTVA-TV's 10 p.m. newscast Sunday, revealing herself as the owner of the medical marijuana business Alaska Cannabis Club and telling viewers that she would be using all of her energy to fight for legalizing marijuana in Alaska.
Greene had reported on the Alaska Cannabis Club during Sunday nights broadcast, without revealing her connection to it. At the end of the report, during a live shot, she announced that she was the club's owner and would be quitting.

(5,610 posts)IMO, that showed the passion she was feeling for being put in that situation.
I wish that all tee vee "news" reporters would show that much passion and "quit" when they were forced to report crap that is controlled by the PTB.
Imagine a reporter doing a "fluff piece" and then saying "none of this shit really matters lets report on the things that really affect the plight of the majority."
It wouldn't take many to wake the low information viewers up.
Kinda like the movie "Network" and the famous "I'm mad as hell and am not gonna take it anymore."
It's gonna take some work to wake the complacent. Bernie Sanders will help.

(684 posts)but something about this seems staged. Maybe I'm jaded cuz of all the hoaxes that have been played, but something about this just seems off.

(950 posts)Those who boggle at strong language are cowards, because it is real life which is shocking to them, and weaklings like that are the very people who cause the most harm to both culture and character. They would like to see the nation grow up into a group of over-sensitive little peoplemasturbators of false culture of the type of St. Aloysius, of whom it was said in the book of the monk Eustachius that when he heard a man breaking wind with a most deafening noise, he immediately burst into tears and could only be consoled by prayers.
People like that proclaim their indignation in public but take the most unusual pleasure in going to public lavatories to read obscene inscriptions on the walls.
In using a few strong expressions in my book I have done nothing more than affirm en passant how people actually talk.
We cannot expect the bar-keeper Palivec to speak with the same refinement as Mrs. Laudová, Doctor Gurth, Mrs. Olga Fastrová and a whole series of others who would like to turn the entirety of the Czechoslovak Republic into a vast salon with parquet flooring, where people go about in tail-coats, white ties and gloves, speak in choice phrases and cultivate the refined behaviour of the drawing-room. But beneath this camouflage, these drawing-room lions indulge in the most depraved vices and excesses.

(5,279 posts)English has over 26,000 words available. These words are our tools to communicate with each other. Some words are so fine in application they are like scalpels, tiny, direct, and precise. Some words are more hammer like, broad, blunt, heavy, and impactive. This young lady used a hammer to ring a gong on a momentous event in her life.
I find no fault in this, carry on young lady.
The saddest fact of this is she will be remembered far longer for her choice of tools, than her activism.

She's always making as huge a scene as possible to look like a libertarian martyr.
She was likely being fired from yet another job, and did this on air to make herself look like a rebel.
