Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko delivered remarks to a joint meeting of Congress about the situation in his country and the ongoing conflict with Russia.?He called on the U.S. to give his country a special defense and security status as a non-NATO member in the wake of Russia’s annexation of Crimea almost one year ago.

But that's just my opinion...I'm sure others here hate Russia and Putin to the point where they might actually want to see a conflict between both countries!

And if I am wrong about my assumption that some here hate Russia and Putin, to the point of advocating any type of conflict, then I apologize.

Pressed hard enough and Russia will cut off Europe from gas and just sell it to China. These counter sanctions hurt Europe a great deal more than the US. Some cynics think the plan is to ruin the European economy (from counter sanctions) in this fashion for American gain.

and he speaks not well of Russia. So that's good. He follows the script written for him, as he must. He says what they want to hear. So that's good.

I do hope his chocolate empire is not suffering, what with all the sanctions and blowback that comes with them.

I don't think Crimea Russia annexation was almost a year ago, however.

Dog Poop, Hipsters More Popular Than Congress In Latest Public Policy Polling Survey

Congressional approval currently languishes at historic lows, but what does that really mean?

According to the latest figures from Public Policy Polling, Congress has an 8 percent approval rating. The survey, conducted by the agency from Oct. 4 - 6, found that a nationally representative group of 502 voters had a higher opinion of dog poop than Congress, by an (ahem) "potent" 7 percent margin.

Poroshenko or the US Congress.

Here's a man who has accomplished exactly nothing short of driving his country into the ground quicker than just about anyone in the last 100 years and he's treated as some kind of hero?

It was so shocking I think there will be more media attention to this in the coming days because he was Lecturing US Congress/Senate about Democracy!

The whole thing is so dreadful it was hard to get through it. As an older DU'er I felt my former life was falling in front of me to see a U.S. Congress applauding this man who was lecturing them. And to see him getting 12 Standing Ovations for his Bloviating Lectures.

It's like living in some Damned Nightmare to see what has happened to our Country.

is all that I can offer. I realize this post will get little views ...and few care...but, I don't give up...and anyone who watches this whole video will understand that it's time for US Citizens to stand up and denounce this kind of behavior of a Ukrainian "put up job" coming here and Lecturing our House & Senate and they are falling all over him.

And he was introduced as "Your Excellency" by U.S. Speaker of House was Bizarre to say the least. The title might be proper but the usage belongs to a Feudal System we got rid of when we managed to Succeed in the American Revolution.

The whole thing is so horrible it's hard to get through the watch. And, I got little response and probably because his performance is so bizarre and so is our U.S. House and Senate for inviting him to speak ....He is NOT Nelson Mandella...or any other person worthy of interest for Accomplishments. He's coming here Begging for our Taxpayer Dollars to support WAR AGAINST RUSSIA.

It's truly DISGUSTING!
