Related: About this forumCivilians killed and horribly injured by Ukrainian jet fighter attack.
This is graphic video (very graphic in parts) showing the aftermath of a Ukrainian jet fighter's missile attack on civilian administrative buildings in the busy, public center of Lugansk, east Ukraine. Anyone who cheers on such attacks should realize this is what those attacks do to actual people:

(8,821 posts)But when it happens to a noncombatant, a civilian just walking down a public street, then it's a war crime.

(8,821 posts)She was not the victim of unsupported allegations or hypothetical machinations. What tore her leg into pieces was the warhead on a missile fired by Ukrainian government jet.
Lets stick to what is clearly the case here. Rumors have little place in this discussion.

and since only one media network, RT, is even reporting it as such
I think ill take the wait and see stance... as in.. waiting for more reports to come out

(8,821 posts)They have been doing so off and on for well over a week now. They have also been filmed using attack planes and helicopters to fire on targets there. It doesn't, therefore, really take an international investigation to explain what happened in this case, but go ahead and have one. Just make sure the members are from neutral nations.

(8,127 posts)been using helicopters... but lets not pretend the people they were firing at weren't firing back ? that's not to say innocent people aren't caught in the middle.. that tends to happen anywhere theres a street to street combat situation in a heavily populated are...
you were specifically pointing to an assault on a building tho and saying it was struck by bomber/fighter jets...
that's highly doubtful.. probably a helicopter.
ive seen plenty of video of the exchanges at the airport a few days ago... sure seemed like everyone they were attacking were armed to me...
as with most conflicts, we usually don't find out the 'truth' until one side is most definitely winning said conflict... either that or when international intervention has caused a stalemate or pause in fighting...
I personally don't see DUs fascination with Ukraine and the need to pick a side or proclaim one side less corrupt than the other...
the left doesn't have much of a say or fight in this conflict im afraid :p
since nobody in the international community is willing to do anything to stop the violence.. because bush and his lies apparently ruined acts of intervention to save human life for the rest of eternity... who knows when we will find out whats really going on..

(8,821 posts)Those reports, the video of the incident and the undeniable context of Kiev's military assault on Lugansk make this pretty much an open and shut case as far as who was responsible.

(220 posts)In Odessa they were able to blame the victims, but that's not so easy when the victims are attacked by a fighter jet. I'm sure they'll find some way to pin the blame on anyone but their puppet government in Kiev.

(8,821 posts)A single, shoulder-launched rocket grenade round could never cause that much of an explosion.

(8,821 posts)May well have been one of the munitions fired from the plane (cannon round most likely) which hit just before the missiles, also fired from that plane, exploded in the street and against the administrative building.
levp
(188 posts)that it was not an RPG, but rather anti-tank weapons, such as:
9K135 Корнет
or
9K115 Метис
In any event, you can fairly clearly see the "backblast" characteristic of RPG or ATGW in the trees.

(8,821 posts)As was suggested when the video you're using to hypothesize was initially posted on Russia Today News, this could well be a munition from the plane striking a tree just an instant before the other munitions explode in the street and on the building that was hit.
No way this was a single RPG round. From where you are saying it was fired, it could not have hit the front of the administrative building anyway, not even close.

I guess that about covers currently mandated rules, correct?
