TYT: Nonsense Argument By MSNBC Host Deconstructed

*Contrary to his fellow host of The Cycle, Krystal Ball, MSNBC host Touré backed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to run for the presidency in 2016 over freshman Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). Touré said that Clinton has the requisite experience to be president and is more "electable" than Warren. Furthermore, he added, imposing a purity test on candidates is how the Democrats lost the presidential elections of the 1980s and why the Republican Party has recently been unable to recapture the upper chamber of Congress...* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

1. Isn't that what the primaries are for, though?

To vote for people who are closest to your personal ideology? It's not like voting for a 3rd party spoiler or anything, since the person who wins the nomination would still be representing one of the 2 major parties.
I generally like Toure', but I think he might have whiffed this one.

Granted, Warren would be my choice, but she has repeatedly said she's not running.

If this is a way of building up Clinton, it's pointless. You either like her or you don't.

Touré, somebody I've never watched, came across as a propagandist. I've never seen him before, but that was my impression.

you look like you are smart. i hate this trend.
i also sort of agree w/ bill maher. she may be too old + known. UNLESS she picked Dean. or someone very new. like cory booker. she was the most admired woman even when not the 1st lady. the 1st lady usually was #1 +hillary beat lauWa.

I'd also add I'm not buying that a 9 year old stayed up late to watch Carter either but that's just me.

Caught that Bullcrapola. Most 9 year-olds don't give a flip-flying-flip about who's the President and much less will stay up late watching "Election Night" results.

6. Does MSNBC WRITE THE MATERIAL for these empty-heads??

I've seen him a few times; never paid any attention to him, and probably will pay even LESS attention to him in the future. What a spineless worm. I read all the previous posts, and they are spot on! "..a nine year old staying up late to watch the returns on Carter..." Joke of the month from MSNBC.

Honestly, I'm disgusted with most of what comes out of MSNBC. I EXPECT such garbage from fox-nonsense. CNN is no more than a corporate whore; but you would think MSNBC, with all the potential talent the progressive movement has, would put up something better than "morning joe", and empty-headed, inexperienced puppets like this toy.

Shame on him...shame on MSNBC....just another corporate whore.

Carter and Dukakis were not liberals. They were squishy centrists who were successfully cast as squishy liberals. Maybe it's "squishy" part that voters despise and Warren is most definitely not soft.

Toure's pragmatic centrist incrementalism BS is laid on so thick it's almost impossible to listen to.
