1. No kiddin"? I've always wondered why it was okay for people to drink themselves into a delirium
|
but it was a mortal sin to use marijuana... I don't think it's something to be toyed with but I don't think it's anywhere near as dangerous as alcohol. I really believe it played a big part in saving my life when I was first diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

2. Well first, I hope your recovery was complete!

And I've never seen people on pot get violent. Alcohol is another story.

3. Because alcohol is sold by corporations while pot can grow for free.

Very glad it worked for you!

4. I worked the golf course bar of an Adirondacks resort hotel
|
that hosted a DEA "retreat" in '90 or '91. I'd been working in the restaruant/bar industry for 11 years and certainly had seen the limits of intoxication tested by uncountable tourists and Adirondack townies alike.
The DEA group, a large one--and this was a most deluxe resort, btw--was by far the drunkest group I'd ever seen. They'd come in the bar before golf, looking like hungover po-leeece, and call for the usual remedies: bloodies, scotch & milk, etc. Afterwards, they'd get utterly smashed. I emphasize that this was no cheap place to drink, and I was absolutely required to pour measured shots. Didn't matter. Money was no object, when to stop was set only when they could drink no more. |

5. I've known several alcoholics who replace alcohol with marijuana
|
Their lives were on the verge of collapse. They were able to give up the booze, replace it with pot, and turn their lives around. It was really quite miraculous. I think that pot should be used to treat alcohol addiction.

6. pot is much less damaging than alcohol!!
|
I have often thought that alcohol should be illegal & pot should be legal! Unfortunately, they've already tried to outlaw alcohol during prohibition but it was under very different circumstances!
Having been addicted to alcohol for over 10 yrs, I know how damaging it can be. Btw, I'm no longer addicted & haven't had a drink for over 20 yrs. |
