80. Yes and no. Wish I could find more of the backstory
|
and I may have been wrong about the details of my post:
Since 2005, Graham airs a weekly guest slot on the Monday edition of George Hook's drivetime show, The Right Hook on Ireland's Newstalk. Speaking from right-wing, US perspective, many of Graham's views are often controversial to the European audience, and so his weekly slot has proved popular with the show's regular listeners. In August 2009, Graham travelled to Dublin to present the show for three days while regular host George Hook was away. Now I'm thinking Graham was subbing for Hook for a broadcast intended for Irish consumption, when Graham walked right into Higgins' punch . |

Last edited Mon Feb 27, 2012, 12:42 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) I've heard him on George Hook's radio show a couple of times, and been completely ashamed that he's an American spewing that bile over here. Hook is a conservative, but an Irish conservative is like a centrist Democrat in the US. I can listen to him without losing my lunch.
I love Michael D. It's early days, but I think he's going to be a good President for this country. |

26. My childrens' mother is of Filipino descent;
|
And as a Black Irish descent myself, I try to REMIND them, at every occasion, of these proud heritages.
Funny thing is, of my 4 grandparents, 3 are blond hair/blue eyed. Of my 4 siblings, the genotypes run according to Mendel's predictions (2 blond/blue and 2 brown/brown). This leaves me with the genotype brown/brown and blond/blue. The mother of my son's son has a daughter who is blond/blue. Funny thing is, she is of Mexican descent. So my skin coloring is pretty dark, at least for a 3/4 light skinned German married a Filipino woman who's skin coloring is darker than Obama's. All my childrens' skin coloring is a bit lighter than Obama's. My son has a son with a woman of Mexican descent and has skin color about that of Obama. Now here is the real funny part; each of the children who they have has a 1/4 chance of being blond/blue ALL with skin coloring about the color of Obama. I have told my son this and his reaction is, 'yeah, right dad. |

|
protected from hearing any diatribe from the teabagger, except for a few grunts here and there.
Anyone who thought they could enter into a battle of words with President Higgins and come out of it unscathed had not done their homework. The man is a word warrior and champion when it comes to battles like this, both because of his command of the language, but also because of his vast knowledge, experience, education and passion for social justice not to mention his literary prowess. He can spot a phony from miles away and I have a feeling he thoroughly enjoyed himself. Someone should have warned the poor teabagger. |

104. Graham - Ignorant, Rude. Deserved Dressdown from Irish Prez.
|
Last edited Mon Feb 27, 2012, 06:16 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Michael Graham hosts a local Boston Talk Show on 96.9 WTTK every weekday, the same station that fired Racist Jay Severin twice. Other than Graham the station is respectable and hosts are respectful. (Michael Smerconish, Jim and Margery are two examples of the better shows on the station.) But I digress.... Graham is a Tparty incompoop. He can never be wrong and disagreeing callers are abused. He takes the most simplistic views amd exaggerates every issue to the point of idiocy. Ive spoken to Graham in person, a very disagreeable experience due to his objection/ aversion to facts. One of Graham's most memorable calls was in 2008 when he famously said "there is no foreclosure problem in the country. And there wont be. There are ONLY 2 million foreclosures in the housing market now." As if 2 million families Were of no importance. Well, we all know what happened in the next few years. Graham proved he was ignorant then and still is.

107. I'm so proud.
|
Michael D. Higgins was one of my lecturers in University College, Galway and I'm soooooo proud of what he's just said. I've just come back from The U.S.A. ( I love it ) but I really want some of The President's supporters to start fighting back. I watched the GOP Primaries and was sickened by the venality, stupidity and dishonesty of the candidates. Gingritch saying that he was going to found a colony on the moon which could apply for Statehood.....he doesn't know how to find jobs for people on Earth; Romney, who in one interview didn't know how much money he had and who said in one interview that he like one State because .....ALL THE TREES WERE JUST THE RIGHT HEIGHT; as for the other idiot, Santorum, does he know that fire has been invented and that the earth is not flat ? Go Michael, tell it as it is !
