Police Chief offers "Apology Heard 'Round The World"

I really hope this isn't a duplicate post (not because i want to be the first to post) but i looked down a couple pages and didn't see it.

It brought tears to my eyes...

3. Thanks so much for posting this. Cried all the way through. Let's keep changing the world.

I was a kid learning about what was going on. The hate, deaths savage brutality and hideous and shameful treatment to AAs.

The feelings of intense terror and revulsion are as strong now as they were then.Likely I will go to my grave with it.

Future generations may not have this seared in their minds, and it's up to us to spare them of this.

4. Proud

This is one of those times in my life that I am Proud to have seen this, wish I could have been there in person. My hat is off to both of them, first to the Chief and second to Mr. Lewis a very unforgettable moment, I hope some day and can meet both of these extraordinary people.

8. These aren't cops, they're Police Officers.

There's a difference.

The cops we see beating, maiming and killing citizens, have become infected by the corrupt system in which they must ply their trade. The twisted sociopathic behaviors we are seeing more and more often from them, are but the obvious symptoms of the rot and cancer that lies above, below and all around them.

If we're ever going to free ourselves from the oppression of racism, it's only going to happen when we're strong enough to confront it, as we've seen a beginning of the process here. Once we do, reconciliation comes not just with apology, but when we forgive ourselves first by acknowledging our flaws. Because that is how we grow from them and evolve both personally and collectively.

And then forgive everyone else.

- Because we're all cracked pots.....

K&R

You can't have corruption at the top without it contaminating
and warping everything and everyone it trickles down upon
.
