Related: About this forumRacist White Teen Girls Goes On A Rant About Blacks ORIGINAL FOOTAGE
Warning. This is pretty sick stuff. These girls are NOW crying that they are getting threats and are in hiding and hell, they even apologized hoping this would all just go away. I don't care they are 14 years old. I hope their names leak out and this follows them everywhere for the rest of their adult life. DISGUSTING!

(62,444 posts)...and a bazillion racist rants on YouTube.
I was just wondering what made this one special, as I clicked on it and decided fairly quickly that the rantings of some 14 year old in Bumblefuck are not something I'm going to endure for long.
Is there something special about this one?
I was hoping to save some time. So that's my reason.
I saw it on Huffington Post. It was recent. I felt passionate about it and had not seen it posted here, so I posted it. I was not aware I had to have other DU'ers review and approve my posting a video.
I am curious that if you feel so strongly against it and felt it was a waste of your time watching it, then why respond at all. If your time is so precious, why take the time and ask a poster why they posted a video on the forums that you did not even bother to watch? Can I go look at all the posts you have started and start asking you why you posted them? Why you posted a certain video? Why did you waste your time responding to this?
Because YOU did not like the subject matter or the video I should not have posted it. WOW!

(62,444 posts)You seem to have a weird notion of my reaction.
I did not say that you should not have posted it.
I was hoping for some idea of what makes it particularly noteworthy.
All the effort into your misplaced sense of offense could have been a capsule summary instead.
I've been posting here on DU for a little over 11 years now and no one has ever questioned my reasons for posting anything. I posted a trailer to a movie I thought looked good once. What is noteworthy to me may not be noteworthy to you. I've seen posts here where I have clicked and if I feel I have nothing to say or bring to the discussion I don't post. I'm curious because you did not watch the video, you apparently had nothing to say about the video but instead you questioned me as to why I would post it.
I've seen posts and videos here where Tea Baggers say some nasty hateful things about gays and minorities. For the future, should I not post these videos because they are not the kind of things you want to see or does this rule apply to everyone? Guess what I am saying is, I would NEVER ask another poster here at DU why on earth they posted something because I felt personally it was not noteworthy to me.
For someone why did not wish to waste their time watching the video you sure have wasted a lot of time talking about nothing. You have nothing really to say about the video, just the poster who posted it. Like I said, WOW!

(62,444 posts)I was just asking you for your opinion about the video and why it struck you as interesting.
I shall never solicit an opinion from you again, I assure you.

(5,062 posts)SOunds like you are the defensive one. Hey, you started this. WHy did I drag this video in here you asked. YOU felt it was not noteworthy, therefore I should not have posted it. That was what you were suggesting. The arrogance is just amazing. You did not even watch the video. SO, you are upset with me for posting but have no opinion of the offensive content in the video. You were not asking my opinion. You asked why I posted a video YOU did not find noteworthy in this forum. You did not have to even respond since you did not watch the video and have no opinion one way or the other.
"I shall never solicit an opinion from you again"
Okay then. I'm gonna hold you to that!

(11,213 posts)There are many people who think more black people receive foodstamps than whites, a misconception recently perpetuated by Newt Gingrich who has called Obama the foodstamp president and said black Americans should demand jobs, not food stamps. The rantings of these teenagers are very relevant to the overall discussion we are having as a nation - it speaks not only to racism but classism, as well. While I agree that it is not at all pleasant to watch, nor is it perhaps necessary to watch in its entirety, it is important to know that this argument is happening amongst our youth - they are, afterall, the up and coming next generation of voters, business owners, school teachers, politicians, etc.

(3,751 posts)Stories like this just keep the hate boiling, what a waste all around. I sadly do not think the US will ever overcome it's 'race' problems, as it was baked into the national karmic cake on a centuries-long basis by the murderous importation of african slaves, genocide of the indigenous peoples, etc.

(27,461 posts)I cut young people a lot of slack as far as working out things like this, even maybe into their early 20's. I'm guessing she's getting it from her family, so she might have to get out on her own before she understand's they're wrong.

(5,062 posts)So, where is this hate coming from? Are they hearing it at home? At school from other students? I get the impression they are sorry and apologized because their lives were turning into a living hell with death threats and being harassed. Its one thing to say something in a fit of rage to another minority. Sure, we all snap and say dumb things. However, this was a fifteen minute rant and they were speaking as if this was all fact and that the majority agreed with them. I think both need serious counseling and really need to understand that even though we have freedom of speech, words have consequences. Just my opinion.

(2,384 posts)I hate to be the toad here, but if they were kicked out (Principal said something to the effect of they were not welcome) it was clearly for speech. There is a clear 1st amendment issue. I would say there is a first amendment issue if the school were to issue any punishment. For as bad as it is, it is still speech and shouldn't be punished.

(26,117 posts)Let's hope these girls do.
I read an interesting article about a white girl in Little Rock who was made sort of infamous in the national media when her school was desegregated. Her face in the news photo is so full of hate...yet she grew up and changed her views (even meeting with the black girl in the photo years later).
Here's the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/09/books/review/elizabeth-and-hazel-by-david-margolick-book-review.html

(24,634 posts)Fuckin' makes me sick and these girls are using it in order to justify their obvious racism. These girls are disgusting and this society is disgusting for allowing them to spread their hate. Shit like this would have been snuffed out and these girls would be facing trials in Europe. I support the first amendment but in order to neutralize racism --- there should be punishment given out for this kind of behaviour because really it may just be words but they fuckin' hurt. These girls are going to reproduce and teach their children the exact same thing and it's just going to be cycle of hate.

(5,062 posts)In my opinion, thee girls are hearing this from someone. 14 year old girls are not thinking about where their tax dollars go or could care less about food stamps and welfare. They are hearing this from their friends, from their parents at the at the dinner table or somewhere. I would question these girls parents. Like I said, NOW the girls are sorry. Only NOW that their lives have been inconvenienced and that their parents and family are suffering from their racism are they sorry. If this video had not gone out on the internet and it was just something they shot and only a few people saw it, nothing would change.
Now, is it possible they can change? Sure, of course. It still does not answer the question why at such a young age do they feel so much anger and bitterness? Where did they learn this from? I say there is a 50/50 chance they might change. It depends on them. I see no evidence that they are remorseful and feel sorry for what they said. I think they are terrified and will say and do anything to make things go back to the way they were.
I will say this though. If they did learn from their parents and they are now being home schooled, the problem will only get worse. This is why the town and social services need to come in and question their parents and the girls and get to the root of the problem which is WHERE DID THEY HEAR AND LEARN THIS FROM?
MisterGamut
(312 posts)this is not at all uncommon thinking. The difference is that these girls were stupid enough to say it on the Internet. Those of us who know better have to be brave enough to speak out not only when it's on the net, but also when we hear it in person.

(1 post)its not completely their fault ,i guess if u check their parents also got a black attitude problem and that might also affect their mentality while growing up
