...most of it will never be enacted. Big oil and coal will see to that. Secondly, I doubt the BRICs and other developing nations are going to drastically slow their economic development, simply because we and the Europeans got "religion" so to speak. Sorry to be such a downer, but we've heard these words over and over and over and over and over and over again for 25 years now, and the only thing that's slowed the annual increase in global CO2 emissions during that time was an economic crash. I'm kind of tired of words and empty promises we know can't be kept. I don't believe them anymore.

And yes, you've been hearing about it for 25 years because Dems have been trying to pass bipartisan legislation. The President has finally given up on that. And I think now there will be action. But you are right about the big oil and coal fighting it; I am sure they will file massive amounts of lawsuits challenging every one of his executive orders. Hopefully Obama will at least have us on his side.

I have been disappointed so many times and I am sick right now so pretty surly about everything. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
