"A Massive Surveillance State": Glenn Greenwald Exposes Covert NSA. Democracy Now!

Last edited Fri Jun 7, 2013, 05:48 PM - Edit history (1)

To those who supported this type of government spying during the Bush administration and have turned against it under Obama, you are right for the wrong reasons, and owe the country an apology for allowing this to get worse for years. To those who challenged government spying under Bush and now support it, you are wrong for the wrong reasons and need to re-awaken your ideals. You’re hurting the country and ironically hurting the party you are trying to help. The hypocrisy is extremely obvious to everyone but you, and it will be used as a political weapon against the left… for many years to come.

And thanks to all those involved in bringing this to light, both in the media and to the whistle-blowers. (Although this shouldn't surprise anyone, it's finally getting coverage.)

4. I'd like to know

Just what the hell the agenda of Glenn Greenwald might be. Perhaps he would prefer we have terrorist attacks every month or so. Look how people were so upset after Boston, asking why it happened. I deplore the necessity of these govt. actions, but am a realist and trust this administration much more than a Romney one. At least it's reviewed regularly by a court, however secret that might be.

6. Glenn Greenwald's agenda should not be up for debate. That's an ad hominem and beneath

intelligent arguments. Did you make these specious statements under Bush?

This is wrong on so many levels. Insulting, freedom killing, ineffective, and foolish. I shouldn't have to re-argue the same points again. Did it for years while Bush was president. Don't be so damn quick to give up rights some people actually care about.

7. I'd like to know

why the gov't is collecting all the data on phone calls and the internet?

Any self-respecting terrorists would use a pre-paid disposable phone bought
with cash. Maybe the gov't ought to ban disposal phones. imho

10. My agenda

Is not to panic and throw out unfounded accusations. This is deplorable, but I voted for the man and trust he knows much more than you or I. Or perhaps further loss of life and maiming is preferable to a computer delving into innocuous emails? We do live in a scary time and I am a realist.

11. I don't see panic.....

...I see outrage. And well there should be. I have no time for sheeple, so this will be my last communication to you. I don't trust anyone in particular those with immense power over other's lives. Anyone who does so is foolish, in my view.

Don't like unfounded accusations? Well how about a founded one? Like the one where he knew ''something'' about a 16-year old boy that was so dangerous that he approved him, his teenaged cousin and several related women for droning? Was it because he was born with the wrong name and the wrong father? This boy was a US citizen who broke no law, and got no justice. He could have been my son. So fuck that trust shit.

12. Stop it, whoever you are. How moronic would someone have to be to fall

for the false dichotomy, 'It's either Big Brother or Death!"

It's insulting.
