1. The VERY folks that are awash in wealth

are the ones that ran up this country's debt. Now they DO NOT want to have to fund the payback of the IOUs written against SS and M&M. That's really the bottom line of it.

2. It's hard to counter deficit hysteria

if leaders of both political parties are selling slightly different versions of it.

3. Has anyone else noticed that "broke' (as in "broken priorities")

. . . rhymes with "Koch." And that spells astroturf.
