(4,015 posts)Much speculation in the papers today that Putin won't back the seperationists. Which makes sense because the pro-Moscow crowd will regain control as soon as the "unified" opposition will devour itself again come May.
Tragedy, then farce. It is the fundamental pattern of history.

Yep, you know what and where I mean and yet you smirk. Ukraine has burned and the point is made....the people have stood up and spoke.
So perhaps there is a caution for all those around the globe who witnessed....evil and corrupt...only days ago, a short week, the people of Ukraine were protesting peacefully....they finally had enough and worked on it.

Who knew? They must have been recently built by Russia in 1992-93.
Otherwise we're quibbling over a paint job.
Abkkhazia nonetheless had ethnic cleansing and forced resettlement while the West stood by and decided to look at Yugoslavia instead.
Then a bit later Russia got the right message from Kosovo and managed to coopt S. Ossetia.
They learned a similar kind of lesson from trans-Dniestria. It was too late for the same kind of thing in the Baltics, though. Shux.
