The People of Florida move to Impeach Rick Scott

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/11/13/1161435/-The-People-of-Florida-move-to-Impeach-Rick-Scott

There is no explanation necessary. The People of Florida have requested the removal of Rick Scott and want him impeached due to voting suppression and the long lines on election day. Please pass this on and let's get rid of this tea party vote suppressor !!!

Change.org

http://www.change.org/...
The Constitution of Florida provides for impeachment and removal from office for officials who have committed misdemeanors or worse crimes.

"The citizens of Florida urgently call for the Impeachment of Florida Governor Rick Scott for his blatant voter suppression activity during the 2012 elections.

Florida Governor Rick Scott has done his best to prevent Democrats from voting in the 2012 Presidential Election. First, Scott and his Republican legislature undertook a purge of Florida’s voting lists that were so biased against minorities (who tend to vote Democratic) that the state was sued by the Department of Justice for violating the National Voter Registration Act. The purge was so overly aggressive that there are now reports of multiple military personnel being disenfranchised by the State of Florida for the 2012 election. In addition, Scott and his Republican co-conspirators in the legislature dramatically cut back on early voting hours in Florida.

Their moves now stand as a clear indicator that Florida’s Governor and legislature have no qualms about suppressing the votes of their opponents.

Governor Rick Scott led efforts to suppress voter turnout by curtailing early voting hours which resulted in confusion and extended waiting periods for voters all across the state....

6. Agreed.

Instead of a futile impeachment effort, the time, money, and energy would be better spent organizing local Democratic committees and laying the groundwork for a Democrat to be elected in 2014. This would also help elect democrats to other state and local offices.

7. The "People of Florida" have done no such thing and the link doesn't work.

Even if it did, it looks like it's just a change.org petition. That's hardly The People of Florida making a motion of impeachment which is a formal judicial move. Crimminy. It's a good cause but the hyperbole of this OP headline combined with the broken link is annoying.

11. This warms my heart

Thanks hue.

We cannot forget for a moment what Scott and so many RN's (racist Neanderthals) did and said throughout the last four years and especially during the campaign.

And take action to do everything we can to throw them out of office.

We won. They lost. Sometimes, nice guys (and gals) do win, Leo.

Bask in this grand moment for our country.
