Citizens in 15 states file petitions to secede from United States - Spokane Conservative | Examiner.

As a result of Tuesday's election, Americans in 15 states have filed petitions to secede from the United States, Regina Conley reported at Red Alert Politics on Saturday.

So far, she says, residents in Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Colorado, New Jersey and ten other states, have filed petitions at the White House petition site requesting secession. A petition for New York to secede was file by "C R" of Grand Forks, North Dakota on Saturday.

Examiner's Sheila Carroll says those other states include Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Oregon.

On November 7, the day after the election, "Michael E" from Slidell, Louisiana, filed a petition at the White House "We the People" site, requesting that Louisiana be allowed to secede.
"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation," the petition reads, quoting the Declaration of Independence.

As of this writing, the petition has 8.162 signatures and needs 16,838 to reach a goal of 25,000.

On Friday, a Texas resident created a petition to secede in order to protect the standard of living Texans now enjoy.

"The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government's neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect its citizens' standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government," the petition reads.

As of this writing, that petition had 5,289 signatures.

Those nuts from New Jersey must still be shell shocked from the defeat. Even Christie left Romney in the dust.

Colorado has been blue or mostly blue recently. Was it our stupid Secretary of state?

9. So these guys have a petition, and they get some signatures. What do they think is going to

happen then? The guy from North Dakota is petitioning to have New York secede. Does he think we are going to see his paper and decide it's time for us to stop being America so as not to offend?

These people never end with the idiocy.

Of coure they may find the style impossible to maintain without all those fat US government contracts.
If certain *ssholes wish to leave the United States they have but to pack and go.
The Union will be maintained in spite of them.

wing nut who I imagine was white, would have a problem if he or she took a look at which counties President Obama won in the State of North Carolina. He won every county with major cities in the state by significant margins. Obama won my own county (Durham) 109,000 votes to 31,000. He won Mecklenburg County with North Carolina largest City (Charlotte) by over 100,000 votes. He also won Wake County with the Capitol City of Raliegh. Who ever signed that petition in North Carolina would have a significant problem on their hands. Romney won the state by a little over 90,000 votes out of over 4 million cast. And most of the revenues in the state come from the urban areas. President Obama also won Cumberland County which is the home of Ft. Bragg. If you don't believe me check it out.

14. All these wankers have to do is

 

petition their state gub'mints to request a Constitutional Convention to amend the document to allow for secession.

No gun fights. No war. Then they can run their state/country any way they want. They can bring back the slavery they all miss so much. They can have all the guns they want. They don't even have to pay taxes to their new country if they don't want to. They can outlaw abortion, they can give up Social Security and the people in the states left behind can divide up the money they leave behind.
