"Libya" - the short history of a RW talking point turned rake in the grass.

Lead around by the talking idiots on RW radio Fox News jumped on this tragedy (like Romney did the night of the attacks) and have drilled into their own heads. They think that this erases all of President Obama juggernaut of foreign policy accomplishments. Over and over and over every hour on radio Rush and Hannity have been taking victory laps with this. The timeline- edited audio clips - this was the one. Fox News danced on the graves of our diplomats and EX- Navy Seals like the Republican convention in 2004 dancing on the graves of 9/11.

This also shows the difference in how the right reacts to a national tragedy opposed to how the left reacted to a national tragedy (9/11).

"He has no answer" they declare hourly. "Failure! "Liar" etc.

But .....it was a trap. No one in the MSM has reported on the Rose Garden statement. It was drown out by the beligerent RW media.
The President did call it (the entire inflamed mess) an act of terror both in the Rose Garden and the next day. MSM has followed the RW into this story, this cottage industry, only to have it blow in the faces. The WINNER is off the table.

The Obama campaign must have made very sure that Candy Crowley knew what the transcript of the Rose Garden speech said. They let the RW go on and on and on about it knowing that this was like a rake in the grass. And Mitt stepped square on it.

1. The sad part

there are many DUers who still believe Hate Radio and Fox "News" have lost their pull. They are as nearly harmful to the cause as the liars themselves.

Very cogent post, undies

4. it seemed Mitt was trying to make the case for a cover up/conspiracy

based on blaming events on the demonstrations against
the film --

as if the administration knew an attack was coming
("terrorists determined to strike in Benghazi") but didn't
do anything to beef up security -- then tried to cover their
asses politically.

Mitt blew it, however. Was it because he didn't KNOW
about the Rose Garden speech? He looked so confused
when all of that was happening, as if he couldn't remember
what he was trying to do. He looked like he was on a
very bad acid trip. The horror of having no ground beneath
your feet.

Made himself look very, very bad. Very shallow & I
agree with his wife about his mental health.. not good.
