If Republicans hate gov't so much, why do they desperately want to run ours?
I'd like to explore this dichotomy, and try to analyze why it exists, and try to determine if the Republican behavior matches their rhetoric. I suspect it won't, but will provide my argument and you can decide for yourself.

(149,560 posts)I suspect their stand on hating the government is more smoke screen than not. To them, it's a means to an end, and that end is to enrich them.
I could be wrong, though, but this is my impression.

That applies as well to abortion, smoking, fast food, and a thousand other things petty people try to deny to other people.

(10,103 posts)And leave the country in debt, with the safety net dismembered, and move to someplace like the magical yacht country that will get whatever food and services they need from the few peasants who live through the end times.
The look at money as a God that can save them from everything. The seas are rising? Build a really big yacht, and float around to where they can get food from anywhere with the money they have. It's insanity.
