Romney: open federal lands to drilling. How much oil and gas ?
Romney would open federal lands to drilling. How much oil and gas is there? Why so little revenue? In part because those currently restricted areas dont seem to have much oil and gas compared with whats already available. Heres a chart that might help clarify matters:

(If someone can tell me how to copy and paste the chart, I'd gladly add it, but for now, since I'm new and don't know how, you'll just have to follow my link to the article.)

(6,278 posts)When he promises "energy independence" by 2020, he's always careful to define the region that is "independent" as "North America" (i.e. the US, Canada and presumably Mexico). He's counting on all that Canadian tar sand oil in his planet-killing nightmare "drill-baby-drill on steroids" fantasy.
Here's the figure: (for a .jpg just type the URL into your post - DU automatically inserts the image without the need for any special tags)
