Hidden Government Scanners Will Instantly Know Everything About You From 164 Feet Away
http://gizmodo.com/5923980/the-secret-government-laser-that-instantly-knows-everything-about-you
Within the next year or two, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will instantly know everything about your body, clothes, and luggage with a new laser-based molecular scanner fired from 164 feet (50 meters) away. From traces of drugs or gun powder on your clothes to what you had for breakfast to the adrenaline level in your body—agents will be able to get any information they want without even touching you. And without you knowing it. The technology is so incredibly effective that, in November 2011, its inventors were subcontracted by In-Q-Tel to work with the US Department of Homeland Security. In-Q-Tel is a company founded "in February 1999 by a group of private citizens at the request of the Director of the CIA and with the support of the U.S. Congress." According to In-Q-Tel, they are the bridge between the Agency and new technology companies. Their plan is to install this molecular-level scanning in airports and border crossings all across the United States. The official, stated goal of this arrangement is to be able to quickly identify explosives, dangerous chemicals, or bioweapons at a distance. The machine is ten million times faster—and one million times more sensitive—than any currently available system. That means that it can be used systematically on everyone passing through airport security, not just suspect or randomly sampled people. MORE

2. People will LOVE it!
|
It will mean they can simple walk through the scanner without having to empty their pockets, or take off their shoes, or get patted down. Since it will make boarding a plane so much quicker and easier people will embrace it as the best thing for air travel since the invention of wings.
And I'm not sure that's a bad thing. |

3. You think they're going to stop the invasive stuff because they have this?
|
I'm not so sure, the patdowns and such have a purpose a long way beyond the obvious looking for weapons/contrabrand.

4. They need to add this technology to the new Google glasses.

How boss it would be to be able to know everything about any stranger you look at.
It should also bring up names, addresses, phone numbers and any web photos that ex's have posted. I wonder if it could tell how much money they have on them? |

Somebody with a fancy idea and no way in hell to make it work in the real world, but they can still soak a few million dollars for working on it.

11. Well, well, look who is in bed with the CIA on this:

IQT Board of Directors includes
A.B. "Buzzy" Krongard Former Executive Director of the Central Intelligence Agency Remember him? Remember how he got his ass handed to him? Wiki does: 1.Krongard's name was brought up in conjunction with investigations into suspected 9/11-related insider trading because of timely Wall Street trades made through the investment bank he used to head, Alex. Brown. Remember that "Buzzy" was involved with Blackwater? 2. At a November 14, 2007 House oversight committee hearing about Blackwater, investigating allegations of improper interference by Krongard's brother, Howard, in Justice Department investigations of Blackwater and other State Department contractors, Chairman Henry Waxman stated that A. B. Krongard was on "Blackwater's advisory board". Howard Krongard at first denied that his brother had any connection with Blackwater, saying: I can tell you, very frankly, I am not aware of any financial interest or position he has with respect to Blackwater. When these ugly rumors started recently, I specifically asked him. I do not believe it is true that he is a member of the advisory board that you stated. And that's something I think I need to say. However, when confronted with a July 26 letter from Blackwater founder and CEO Erik Prince to Buzzy Krongard asking him to join Blackwater's advisory board, followed by a September 5 letter welcoming Krongard to the board and a report from Rep. Elijah Cummings stating that Buzz Krongard had been expected to attend a Blackwater board meeting earlier that week, Krongard said he had called his brother during the ensuing break in the hearings and learned of this conflict of interest for the first time, saying "I'm not my brother's keeper, and we don't discuss our business with each other". He then recused himself from the investigation. Committee chairman Henry Waxman issued a memorandum summarizing the discrepancies between the two brothers' recollections of what Buzzy told Howard. and guess who else is on this CIA linked private company? David E. Jeremiah Chairman of Wackenhut Services Inc. More names, maybe some of you can help figure out who they really are: http://www.iqt.org/about-iqt/our-team/board-of-trustees.html |

You have a composite signal from 8000 different chemicals in greatly varying concentrations (from 0 to relatively large percentages) and have to pick out the particular 28.
Not only that, but you have to pick out metabolic products in the bloodstream from what's sitting in a pocket. You have to distinguish between the spikes produced by a dozen bonds in a dozen chemicals and the same spikes produced by one chemical. Gonna be good. But they're just trolling for investors. Produce buzz. Buzz produces interest by investors. Investors produce investment. Perhaps even the Federal government will get involved! |
