Kyle Scott: Is the Tea Party finally over

Now that Mitt Romney has secured the U.S. Republican nomination, finally, it appears the Tea Party is officially dead.

This was unthinkable two years ago.

But when the Tea Party can’t prevent the nomination of a moderate, establishment candidate who designed the health-care program that served as the model for Obamacare, there isn’t much it can do that matters.

And the courting of Marco Rubio to be his running mate is confirmation even the Romney campaign no longer feels the need to court the Tea Party.

. . .

Romney’s nomination signals that the 2012 elections will be a retreat from the Tea Party right.

MORE . . .

This appears to be what has RimJob so worked up? And our Tealiban-dominated Congress has the worst approval ratings in history, for all their obstinance. Ding-dong, the wicked, soggy Teabag is dead - maybe?

just like gay marriage, the ground zero mosque, and all the other phony movements the greedheads put together. They're not using the tactic now because for whatever reason they don't think it will be effective. Maybe it's gone for good or maybe another time will come around where they'll revive it.

and further radicalized it.

While it infuriates some here, the Tea Party and Occupy seem to be following much the same path...a burst of energy and then petering out in terms of direct effectiveness

because they serve their masters well. If Mittens loses then another tactic will be tried.

No it wasn't.

Many of us knew that the Teabaggers would end up just like their spiritual forebears, the Know-Nothings, and last just about as long.
