Team Obama: Justices' questions don't mean anything

Team Obama: Justices' questions don't mean anything

The White House and the Obama campaign are both warning reporters about reading too much into the Supreme Court's tough line of questioning — saying that the justices' feelings about the law or the mandate can't be assumed simply from their questioning.

"Anyone who thinks they can predict the outcome of a Supreme Court case based on the questions of the justices ... is not a very good student of the Supreme Court" White House spokesman Josh Earnest said.

"It's foolhardy to try to predict the outcome of this decision based solely on the questions of the judges," Earnest told reporters.

Chicago also warned that simply because justices interrogated government attorney Donald Verrilli on the mandate and severability does not mean the law was poised to be stricken.

going to ask every question I can think of. They are in no way indicative of what my final decision may be. Of course at least 4 SC justices are extremist, activist, rightwing douches with no common sense or moral compass, which doesn't look great for the ACA, but questions do not a final decision make...
