Huff Post: Black Voter Turnout So Far Is Not Good For Hillary Clinton"
"North Carolina is seeing fewer black voters casting their ballots early this year, The New York Times reports. They accounted for just 22 percent of early voters as of Monday, compared to 27.3 percent of early voters in 2012.....In North Carolina, Republican lawmakers and officials have engaged in a concerted effort to reduce turnout among African-Americans.....In Florida, black voter turnout is down from 25 percent at this point in 2012 to 16 percent now. However, Latino turnout is up ― as of Monday morning, it was already at 97 percent of the 2012 early voting total ― and more than 60 percent of that group is expected to vote for Clinton."

(5,255 posts)I understand that you need to roll out some bad news to counteract what was just reported concerning the early voting in Florida, but please try to keep more current with your concern!

(975 posts)about what I read. I live in Broward county, the most democratic county in Florida. The fact is I see a lot of pro Trump activity; bumper stickers, people waving signs on street corners, posts on local facebook sites, etc. As I write this fivethirtyeight.com has the chance of winning Florida at Clinton - 50.6%, Trump - 49.4%. I don't believe in sticking my head in the sand. Everyone needs to know that it is possible that Trump can win. Complacency is our enemy, whereas panic can get people off the couch and to the polls.

(714 posts)We had some people from NY who are going all over NC to see if there are problems. They told me that there are still many people in shelters that are not getting out to vote. There were whole towns flooded in places where the is usually heavy voting.

It's impossible to measure black turnout before STTPs.
