Trump has taken over $100K from company behind Dakota Access pipeline, has $1M connection
SNIP
Trumps financial disclosure forms show the Republican nominee has between $500,000 and $1m invested in Energy Transfer Partners, with a further $500,000 to $1m holding in Phillips 66, which will have a 25% stake in the Dakota Access project once completed.
The information was disclosed in Trumps May filing to the Federal Election Commission, which requires candidates to disclose their campaign finance information on a regular basis.
It appears that Trump made his investments even though peaceful protests had already begun.
The 1,171 mile long pipeline crosses land that was once officially part of the Standing Rock Sioux lands, but which was taken by the Army Corps of Engineers under the auspices of flood control.
The path of the pipeline crosses a number of sacred sites, as well as crossing the river upstream of the Standing Rock Sioux tribal lands.
So the pipeline represents a direct threat to the quality of their water.
The pipeline was originally slated to run near the state capitol at Bismarck, but was relocated near the Sioux tribal lands after complaints.

Standing Rock Sioux Tribes Response to Treatment of Protesters
Since Saturday October 22, 127 water protectors have been arrested. There have been multiple reports that peaceful protesters were met with violence. The statement below is from the Chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Dave Archambault II.
The militarization of local law enforcement and enlistment of multiple law enforcements agencies from neighboring states is needlessly escalating violence and unlawful arrests against peaceful protesters at Standing Rock. We do not condone reports of illegal actions, but believe the majority of peaceful protesters are reacting to strong-arm tactics and abuses by law enforcement.

I find it ironic that the State of NDakota gives honor to the Sioux through their Tourism, while the State Government embraces deep pocket outsiders, of which Presidential Candidate Donald Trump is a part of, to disregard this place of honor as they have so done with DAPL.
The annual United Tribes International Powwow in Bismarck brings together drummers, dancers and spectators from all around the world.
