Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have not been very forthcoming with information regarding the fatal police shooting of Keith Lamont Scott on Sept. 20.

They refuse to release the body cam footage.

Their accounts of what happened in the moments leading up to the shooting have been directly refuted in video evidence as well as eyewitness testimony.

The public at large has been left with more questions than answers. The following questions deserve direct, immediate answers:

Police were supposedly searching for a suspect when they shot Mr. Scott. What is that suspects description and how closely does Mr. Scott match that description?
Mr. Scott was in a car. Was a car associated with the suspect police were looking for? If so what is that vehicle's description.

At what point did police realize that Mr. Scott was not the suspect they were looking for? What attempts were made to check whether Mr. Scott was the suspect or not?

From the video she provided, Mrs. Scott tried to talk with the police. Did any police officer try to interact with Mrs. Scott before the shooting?

Police got the wrong man and then shot him. I've seen no indication that they tried to identify Mr. Scott. There also seems to be enough time for at least one officer to question Mrs. Scott before the shooting.

It pisses me off that the media isn't asking these basic questions.

"How are we as a people supposed to trust the police when it appears that they don’t have even the most basic training in de-escalating situations?"
