What can we do to begin to promote healing and move towards justice for all those who have been harmed, in so many ways?

1. If you're a boomer or older and grew up Catholic and poor, you already knew

priests molested little boys. If not, you weren't paying attention. And now with the mass revelation of pedophile priests--so many you'd have to be a moron or pedophile yourself to deny their existence--I guess we know what the term "the calling" means. In old movies, seminarians are asked if they have the calling. In other words, do you like to rape little kids?

2. I'm a boomer and grew up working class liberal. I have learned about how widespread this evil is

from people like Peter Isley and some of Jeff Anderson's Wisconsin associates as well as a Monsignor. It isn't just the Roman Catholic Church of course, but there has to be massive reform within and without.

I do remember some of my childhood friends making comments about "peculiar" priests that they stayed away from growing up in Milwaukee.

3. Yep, I'm female but I remember hearing things by the time I was 11 or 12. I didn't believe it

or disbelieve then. I just stored into my memory. Hearing about this stuff back when I was a kid made it much easier to believe priest molestation stories by the time I was an adult. It's like the Bill Cosby rape claims. After a certain number of claims from different sources, you can't dismiss it as bullshit.

5. I feel so bad for the kids

I wonder how this compares to other churches?

I had a friend get wildly defensive with me, when I played him a Louis C K clip about priests being molesters..

He tried to say that across all occupations the rates were equal. I didn't argue much, and I was embarrassed the Louis CK bit offended him.

Oh, well. I thought it was a very sarcastic, cyptic, take from a comedian.

I think my friend was wrong.but I had no stats.

6. Its evil and concentrated in certain strongholds and professions. I'm sickened by those that insist

that the kids and their advocates are liars, just as much by the Bishops and others that kept transferring the perps to evade civil justice to the point of declaring bankruptcy etc.

It rips your heart out after awhile.
