12 million Americans believe alien lizards rule us

Olga Oksman
Thursday 7 April 2016 15.50 EDT

According to .. Public Policy Polling .. 12 million people in the US believe that interstellar lizards in people suits rule our country. We imported that .. belief from across the pond, where professional conspiracy theorist David Icke has .. maintained that the Queen of England is a blood-drinking, shape-shifting alien ...

The most widely appealing conspiracy theories are the ones that allow a person to insert their own villain of choice, Uscinski says. For example, conspiracy theories around the assassination of JFK are so popular in part because they allow believers to blame the coverup on whichever power they most fear: the US government and associated agencies like the CIA or the former Soviet Union and Cuba ...

While most conspiracies tend to gain traction in a very small number of people, when someone acts on a conspiracy, it can become dangerous very quickly. Cliven Bundy’s followers have tended to believe in everything from the government secretly microchipping millennials to the United Nations running the Bureau of Land Management. People who believe that the mass shooting in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, was faked have harassed the families of children that were killed ...

I'm a Bernie supporter, but really, Hillary as a lizard? Come on, let's stick with policy differences. There is nothing to lose by taking the high road.

I have never forgiven Hillary for Iraq. Her friendship with war criminal Kissinger also does not require me to take any high road. Swampie's alien meme was spot on in my eyes. We don't need any more "war" presidents. I don't want to lose my son-in-law because she thinks some country is a great business opportunity.

I was opposed to the Iraq war from the beginning, and have been outraged by what our government did to that country. One of the reasons that I don't support Hillary is that she is a hawk on foreign policy. I also dislike her ties to Wall Street and global corporations, including defense contractors. This is the only point that I was trying to make, which you may, of course, disregard, is that this campaign has, in my view, devolved into personal attacks. With the Hillary supporters labeling all of us who support Bernie as "Berniebros" it just feeds their narrative and allows them to sidestep discussing the issues. In short, I think it is counter-productive for our side.

He thinks all the rich are Free Masons. There's eye symbols on everything, including the CBS logo.

I told him that's an eye. When you "watch" TV you use your "eyes". Nope, Free Mason. The world was flat, now it's concave because the math doesn't add up. I've heard it all. Although I believe JFK was a conspiracy and 9/11. That's as far as I go. This kid wants to free the world while spending hours tweeting and facebooking his life away.

And they all claim to hate it, the politicians, but they keep right on doing it, and the weathy keep right on paying for it.

And the people who run campaigns, hired guns, they love it.

But anyway, I think the same thing applies to pollsters and the people who use them to "influence voters".

The only thing that really works, gets you elected, is the ground game, which is cheap compared to TV ads.

... and for the Dems in general, since the DNC no longer emphasizes the ground game at all and the GOP has concentrated on it. There's a reason local government has been falling into the hands of the whackjobs. And though Mr Sanders has a fine local structure for his own election, how that will help the rest of the people running for lesser offices remains to be seen. While pundits keep maundering on an on about how unpopular Congress is making itself, the event never seems to resemble their predictions. The Dems need to get off their collective ass and start banging on doors as a continual process, or Bernie's "revolution" isn't going to amount to spit.

The husband comes back to camp enthusiastic about discovering that the locals use the same word for 'mountain,' 'tree,' river,' and every thing he points to. He says: This shows the tribe's recognition of the unity of everything.

The wife calmly says: "Dear, did you ask them the local word for 'finger?'"

excessive greed & the need to control is usually driven by a hyper actively dominant reptilian brain.

Fight/flight, divide/conquer, eat or be eaten, sort of tiresome mentalities.

Really just terribly un-evolved.

Or . . .

~ one can always hyperbolically blame *all* their troubles on those awful, baby sacrificing, blood sucking, shape shifting reptilians.

An old friend & I used to jokingly pretend to ascribe all harsher fates on them.

Now am pretending that all ills come from the parallel universe that's leaking into ours !!! egads

A little humility would do us a lot of good.

I think your point about where that comes from is quite right. People who try to make you mad are trying to manipulate you, and they are not your friends.
