What Incredible Power Have News Media Been Exercising Over Our Nation! We Must

Get Out of Being Controlled by Them!

We all see the tremendous advantage Republicans have over Democrats, because
90% of the news media are owned by them. Democratic Presidential Candidate
Bernie Sanders has been blocked out of the news for the better part of a year.
Politics, politicians, and even democracy itself are practically under the mercy of
the Republicans, who are now just about dictating what the American public should
and is allowed to know. It's high time that we really did something to fight back and
draw the line -- THIS FAR AND NO FURTHER!!!

We can think of some way for as many as possible non-Republican-owned news
media to come together and agree at certain hours of the day to broadcast the same
agreed-upon information to tell the American public the truth of what is really going on
in our world, as well as to refute all the propaganda, half-truths and the twisted and
total lies.

A good time would be the morning and evening rush hours, when traffic is heavy and
slow, and perhaps some 70 million people across the nation are going to and returning
home from work, and many of them do listen to the radio to get some relief from the
boredom of having to drive in that kind of traffic. (I know. I was doing that for a few
years at one time).

This would take a great deal of planning. It would be a long-term affair, especially
when the goal is to cover all the important cities in the entire country -- if possible.

There are many wealthy people who could be approached for donations to help fund
such an organization. "The Patriotic Millionaires" would be an example. Philanthropists
like George Soros, would be another....etc....., and we would also welcome the $3
donations from the grassroots people, who are reachable here on the Internet and
elsewhere.

How to get such an organization started? We need responsible people knowledgeable
in the field of communications. And would the Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders
people be interested in such an idea, and if so, agree to sponsor such an effort? There
are a few well-known names in the field of journalism, who might be approached
(Ed Schultz?) and might be coaxed into giving their expertise and time, and perhaps
even joining?

The goal is a long-term one. It should not be limited to the lifetime of any one
individual. Hopefully it would keep going effectively into the far distant future and
expand into every branch of the news media -- hopefully indefinitely.

For many years the objective of the Republican news media seems to have been to
dumb down our people with their propaganda and lies, so that Americans would be more
easily controlled. We are pretty much under the domination of a few International
Business Corporations, who are trying to rule the world. They have been working at it
for a long, long time. And they never seem to give up. Yes, challenging them is not
going to be an easy task!

I am not in communications. It's not my field. The above is just an idea of mine. I
realize that getting such an organization started is a job of immensely huge proportions.
It might even have been foolish to have thought of such an idea to begin with, but these
are not normal times. In fact, I think our world has never been in a more dangerous time
than right now. It's quite possibly one of those times where the seemingly impossible has
to be dared and tried -- if our way of life, and perhaps, even all life on earth, is to survive
at all! I understand that there are also journalists and communications people right here
at DU. Perhaps they could chime in and even form a nucleus?

Any and all suggestions are welcome!!

All beginnings are hard, and some even have sounded crazy. But what other choices do
we have? Do we wish to continue to allow ourselves to be at the corporations' tender
mercies? Empathy, mercy, and conscience are words that are foreign to these people.
Their vocabulary does not include them. We can no longer simply sit back and let them do
as they wish with impunity. It's time to fight back -- and en masse!

1. I have here 5 recommendations to my OP, but not a single reply. Are we too afraid

to express an opinion -- ANY opinion on the topic that without independent news
media, Democrats can't compete effectively with the GOP. We need news media as
powerful as those of the Republicans. Without it, our chances of losing will be magnified.

We can't even refute the propaganda and lies spread by them against us. We've been
taking their BS lying down like doormats for years on end, and occasionally make a
little yap of protest.

Without news-media informing the American people of what's going on in this world of ours
and refuting the GOP lies with proof and evidence, the chances of Democrats winning
on a regular basis will be considerably diminished.

There are no two ways about it. We've got to let our people know the truth. We've got to
point out each Republican half-truth, twisted propaganda and outright lie each and
every time, and repeat them over and over again -- loud, clear and long.-- if we would
want to win, both in the short and the long terms.

It would greatly simplify matters if we did have news media that reported the truth. Has there
ever been another First World nation, besides our own, in which about half of the people have
been kept in total darkness and know so little, if anything, of what's happening in our own
country -- and even less of the important happenings in the rest of our world?

This dumbing down of the USA has been deliberately planned a long time ago. And the planners,
no doubt, have also had their specific goals in mind. They worked long and hard, and the results
of their evil success is easy to see. When are we going to accept the challenge, and STAND UP
AND FIGHT?!?!
