Jorge Ramos Commits Journalism, Gets Immediately Attacked by Journalists
{short snip from long article}
One might think that in a conflict between a journalist removed from a press conference for asking questions and the politician who had him removed, journalists would side with their fellow journalist. (14,732 posts)watching the whole exchange several times I'm forced to admit that I come down more on the side of those criticizing Ramos. His pushing in with his question(s) over another reporter who had already been called on, coupled with his aggressive tone made it clear (at least to me) that he wasn't asking questions but was instead attempting to be an advocate of his positions on Immigration. I reject that type of High School journalism when Fox does it and I likewise reject it when a person for whom I have respect does it.
Adding insult to injury, once Trump overreacted and had Ramos ejected from the session, he should have made his point to the cameras and walked away clearly a winner. But by agreeing instead to permitted to be 'let back into the room' Ramos sacrificed whatever credibility he had won to that point. He proceeded to go along with Trump's little dog and pony show (much to Trump's delight) and even wound up agreeing with Trump that 'they would talk again soon'. Not a high water mark for Univision's journalism, I'm afraid.
