Let's see, start off by committing treason by making a deal with an enemy nation holding American hostages in order to undermine the election of a sitting President (resulting in American hostages being held longer).

Illegally selling weapons to an enemy nation.

Lie to Congress about selling weapons to an enemy nation.

Diverting funds from illegal sale of weapons to an enemy nation to a terrorist group.

Lie to Congress about diversion of funds.

Yeah Rand, way to go. I'm sure this is a great example of how you'll lead.

The Contras may have sounded like terrorists, acted like terrorists, and sold cocaine to Americans (with help from the CIA) like terrorists, but Oliver North said they were actually freedom fighters. While Oliver North was convicted of various crimes, he was later completely exonerated of those crimes when his convictions were overruled on the technicality that his prosecution may have possibly, though it was never proven, benefitted from his testimony to Congress under the protection of immunity, during which testimony he confessed to these exact crimes and several others. And while he was linked to the Contras' cocaine dealings by them using the supply network he set up with his good friend, Manuel Noriega (whom we later fought a war to arrest for his drug smuggling), and he made it easy for anyone associated with his supply system to escape close scrutiny by Customs or the DEA, he was never convicted of participating in the drug smuggling, though after an investigation, the nation of Costa Rica banned North from ever entering that country.

So, you see, our justice system has established Oliver North is completely innocent, and you can therefore have no reason to doubt his judgment that the Contras were noble freedom fighters, who just coincidentally looked, acted, and quacked like terrorists.

Israel sold thousands of advanced missiles to Iran at Reagan's behest.

And those explosives used against our troops by Iranian insurgents? Yep, we sold'em.

And Saddam's nerve gas that he used against his own people? Yep, that was us.

And Iran's current nuclear technology that is going to set the world on fire? Yep, sold to them by a Halliburton subsidiary. (Created as an off-shore entity to avoid the US sanctions).

And now the opposition to Obama's peaceful disarmament deal with Iran? The same neocons who created this mess in the first place.

is he going to do what Reagan did during the Iran hostage situation---how convenient.

Reagan and his illustrious right wing team, as a civilian's mind you was / were negotiating with the Iranians in secret, a foreign government, prior to him swearing his allegiance to the Constitution---that is being called a traitor and he (Reagan) still his a traitor.

Or is he going to also follow in the steps of Richard Nixon and what his band of merry men did, the same thing during the Vietnam conflict---negotiating with a foreign government and making promises out the kazoo---he also was a traitor.

And now old chuckles, Rand Paul, wants to follow in Reagans foot steps ------great.

Ah yes ---brings back fond memories of a current Fix Noise guy, Ollie North, dressed in his United States Marine uniform (Colonel no less) and lying through his teeth, but do not fear, old Ollie has a radio program and he gets on Fix Noise once and awhile and the public gets to listen to his sage wisdom of hypocrisy on how liberals are liberals (bad unpatriotic people)

During the Reagan administration, who was Iran fighting? Who was Iraq fighting? The answer is, each other. They really didn't have too much time to screw with us, as they were preoccupied with each other.

Paul's basic point is: Let the Sunni parts of the Islamic world fight with the Shiite part of that world. Works for me.

Right, I'm ALWAYS wont to gravitate to presidential candidates that form their foreign policy platforms after an administration that more or less got away with high treason.

In 1979, Nicaragua underwent a successful revolution led by a socialist movement known as Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN). This revolution deposed the brutally-repressive regime of Anastasio Somoza Debayle,[wp] which was a recipient of large-scale United States military and economic aid and was known for its gruesome violations of human rights.[1][2] The FSLN established a new government that promised reforms, land redistribution and an end to human rights violations.

Tensions mounted when an anti-Sandinista faction called the Contras began to mobilize and conduct coordinated attacks on the infrastructure of the country in an attempt to destabilize the FSLN government. The Contras for the most part consisted of right-wing extremists, former land elites and ex-members of the feared and vicious Guardia Nacional, which was responsible for the most egregious human rights violations under the previous Somoza regime.[3] While many observers called the Contras "death squads," the Reagan administration called them "freedom fighters" (to be fair there were war crimes committed by both sides, although the Sandinista's human rights record was immensely better than the military regimes in El Salvador and Guatemala, also being supported by Ronnie).

Since the Reagan administration opposed communism, and since the Sandinistas were commie sympathizers, the Reagan administration thought it would be a good idea to give US aid to the Contras, including money and weapons. However, Congress was uninterested in getting the United States involved in another country's civil war (again) and explicitly forbade any such actions. But Reagan really wanted to do it so they had to find a way around the law.

How much longer are we going to allow ourselves this continued onslaught of idiocy from the right wing? This republican party is the most dangerous threat our nation has ever faced. Why isn't there a national effort put forth to get EVERYONE to vote? Look at what Oregon just did. You are automatically registered to vote in that state, and are then sent a ballot right to your doorstep. I say further this effort by giving everyone who bothers to send in that ballot a cash reward of $20. If we could get this in every state, Republicans would never win another election and we could rid ourselves of their lunacy. This would save the country more than enough money to pay the voting reward.

The Right Wing religious quackery has taught that 25%/one fourth of the World, will be destroyed by fire, before the return of Christ. IMO, that is giving the Nutbag Extremist in Congress, permission to bring on small nuclear warfare.

President Obama, being a very intelligent man, harassed over religion also, is telling Americans that everyone should vote. The GOP and Israeli leader seem to be setting the stage for a bombing war. Perhaps Obama will sign an Executive Order getting everyone registered to vote.

Its is everyone's responsibility to vote for or against Candidates who refuse to accept nuclear particles that would circulate around the World by winds if small nuclear bombs are exploded. It is my belief that there are millions of RW idiots out there, that would believe that a nuclear winter would keep Global Warming from occurring. Keep in mind that nuclear particles have been used in Iraq already but not spread by bombs. Particles have come from Japan's meltdown also. I believe that the mentality for nuclear warfare is in place, just as Einstein warned. Little to no knowledge on the nuclear science and the science of Global Warming is easy plunder for the corrupt GOP. No oil coming out of the Near and Middle East means it would be EXPORTED from the West.
