Mitt Romney Files Extension For 2011 Tax Return

Mitt Romney's campaign announced at 5:16 p.m. Friday that the presumptive GOP nominee has filed an extension for his 2011 tax return.

"Sometime in the next six months, and prior to the election, Gov. Romney will file and release the 2011 return when there is sufficient information to provide an accurate return," wrote Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul in an email to reporters. Six months from now would be Oct. 13, weeks before the election.

The Romneys estimate a total tax liability of $3,226,623 for 2011, according to Saul. They made payments of $3,434,411 in 2011. They made an estimated payment of $887,000 for 2012.

The Obamas and the Bidens released their 2011 tax returns earlier Friday.

1. He's hiding his tax return, of course! Makes him look...GUILTY!

I doubt the reason he's stalling is because Lovie misplaced the shoe box full of charity ball receipts and Thurston can't finish the computations without them!

all those accounts - which one is where, which one is hidden in a Swiss account; which one is in the Caymans...

It's hard work keeping track of a half a billion dollars.

After all, it does take a while to make enough paper to put Romney's return on.

The real problem here isn't that Mitt needs a six-month extension on his taxes, or all the Swiss bank accounts he's hidden his serious wealth in. The problem is the GOP, who keeps on saying Obama is out of touch with the common American, is running a man who owes $3.226 million in federal income taxes on last year's supply of walking-around money.

5. yeah it would figure

a guy who makes several times over what the president makes would need an extension. fortunately obama has nothing to hide. so im 2010 he make about $22 million but somehow he made 2.3 million the next year o_O oh what is he hiding
