They didn't want momentum to build up amongst average people which can happen during the day. And during the day the cameras can catch what they are doing. They will now do their best to defuse things during tomorrow's protest. You know agent Provacateurs aligned with the Feds could have lit some of those fires. It's an accepted tactic to make the activists look bad and turn public opinion against them.

Been lots of those tonight. Don't know what kind of message they think the convey by posting and deleting, but ah...okay. Say 50 people read it? Now that's a powerful message.

of the Mississippi River or west of the Rocky Mountains?

Our local CBS channel showed a group here in Tempe holding a peaceful protest. Tempe was one of the cities scheduled for a same day protest.

I can't find the link to the site where the states/cities and the times of the protests.

edited to add
After I posted several threads appeared that answered my geography question. If anyone has the site for the day and times for the protests I would appreciate it.

25. Protesters take to streets of Seattle following Ferguson decision:

BY Josh Kerns - November 24, 2014

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Seattle Monday evening after a grand jury in Missouri declined to indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting that left 18-year-old Michael Brown dead and sparked weeks of unrest in August.

A group staged a "die-in" in Seattle's Westlake Park, laying down in the street before marching to Capitol Hill and then onto the Central District.

KIRO Radio's Brandi Kruse is with the demonstrators and reports while there is anger, there has been no violence...

Mayor Ed Murray urged calm in a speech following the decision.

"My message to the young African American men in Seattle today is this:
While we do not have the answers today, we in this city are listening to you.
Your city hears you. And your city loves you.
In this hour of pain, your city is absolutely committed to moving forward with you, together, towards greater peace and greater justice.
My message today to all Seattle residents is to ask that we all reach out to our neighbors - across racial and cultural lines in particular - commit to a promise of making our city a better place."

Seattle is located in King County, and was named after William Rufus King and its flag and logo was a royal crown. But a motion was passed to change it to the image below of Martin Luther King, Jr.:

16. A Quick Recap
Tue Nov 25, 2014, 02:47 AM
Nov 2014

The protest started earlier today at Union Square. Thousands marched up to Times Square, where the groups split up and went to three major bridges in Manhattan. Then they stopped in the middle of the bridges, shutting down all in and out traffic into Manhattan.

There are now plans for protests every day in Manhattan, including a protest during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

STAND PROUD NEW YORK! CHANGE STARTS NOW!

Does anyone care about the middle class worker trying to get to work? Why shut down bridges so people that had nothing to do with any of this get effected. Why not protest at all the police stations or city halls instead?

when being polite and keeping out of the way, and staying on the sidewalk and following the rules DOESN'T SEEM TO GET THE POINT ACROSS.

P.S.: As far as those bridge closures go, trust me, cars are few and far between at that time, even in NYC.
